Decades Of Legal Experience
Thomas G. Slater has been involved in the Frederick County legal community for more than 35 years. Prior to practicing law, he taught in Frederick County Public Schools for 16 years. Mr. Slater often mediates contested family law cases, and has been appointed by the Frederick County Circuit Court to represent children in contested family law matters. He has represented Social Security claimants in hundreds of administrative hearings before the Social Security Administration since the 1980s and has developed a reputation for excellence in this area of law, gaining the respect and confidence of fellow legal professionals.
Stephen G. Slater graduated from the University of Maryland College Park in 1997, after serving for six years in the United States Navy. He earned his law degree from Georgetown University in 2002. Prior to returning to Frederick to practice law with his father, he worked for a U.S. Senator on Capital Hill for three years. Mr. Slater often provides pro bono legal services to veterans of the U.S. military and has served as a volunteer attorney in the Judge Advocate General Corps of the Maryland Defense Force for more than 12 years. Stephen Slater has appeared before the SSA in over 250 administrative hearings.
